JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Grant Writer for Trajectory of Hope, you will play a crucial role in securing funding that
enables us to achieve our mission. You will be responsible for researching, writing, and
preparing grant proposals, as well as maintaining relationships with funding partners. The
successful candidate will have a passion for social justice, a strong understanding of our
organization’s mission, and excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
● GRANT PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT:
○ Research potential funding opportunities from government agencies,
foundations, and other grant-making organizations.
○ Collaborate with program managers and other team members to gather
information for grant proposals.
○ Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals that align with
Trajectory of Hope’s mission and goals.
● GRANT MANAGEMENT:
○ Ensure timely submission of grant applications and reports.
○ Track and report on grant outcomes, including programmatic and financial
results.
○ Maintain accurate records of all grant-related activities.
● RELATIONSHIP BUILDING
○ Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with potential funding partners.
○ Communicate effectively with donors and funders to provide updates on
project milestones and achievements.
● GRANT COMPLIANCE:
○ Stay informed about grant regulations and compliance requirements.
○ Work closely with the finance and program teams to ensure compliance with
grant terms and conditions.
COLLABORATION:
● Collaborate with internal teams to gather data, stories, and other information
necessary for grant applications.
● Work closely with the leadership team to align grant strategies with organizational
priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. (communications, English, nonprofit
management, etc.). Master’s Degree Preferred
● At least 2 years experience in grant writing and fundraising for nonprofit
organizations. Preferably 3 years
● Demonstrates success in securing government contracts, grants, or funding,
showcasing a strong understanding of governmental processes, regulations, and
compliance requirements is preferred, but not required.
● Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
● Knowledge of social justice issues, particularly related to racism and systemic injustice
specifically of black children in the school system.
● Excellent organizational and project management skills.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
LOCATION
● This role is a part time position that is fully remote.
COMPENSATION
● Salary will be based on experience
